This is neat: hide something in a public place and leave a note on an annotated map for others to discover it.
I have a vague supspicion that this sort of thing (sort of like the yellow sticker project, or other "annotated places") will have a killer idea behind it at some point; the blending of google maps/virtual earth, digital photography/flickr and even GPS is too enticing.
