Taken together, these three bits of wisdom from Oscar Wilde pretty much sum up what I think about brands:
- "It is absurd to divide people into good and bad. People are either charming or tedious." (just substitute people for brands)
- "Everything popular is wrong." (nothing great ever happens by following the pack)
- "Consistency is the last refuge of the unimaginative." (a good mantra for creativity and interestingness).

I have a thought which I recently blogged about - it is basically that all digital marketing and brands need to apply the JFK school of think, "ask not what your consumer can do for you, ask what you can do for your consumer.'
