Does he really?! Well, that's nice, isn't it?
A lot of things are great about Obama. Especially his marketing. From social media like Twitter, Flickr, YouTube to the Will.I.Am song and ringtones, the Obama push has taken on a life of its own. The idea of Obama has taken on a life of its own.
At this point, I'm having a hard time separating the idea of Obama from Obama himself. The enthusiasm, fueled by social media and grassroots advocacy and evangelism is not like any campaign we've seen before.
The idea of Obama or Obama himself. Is there even a point in making the distinction? It is starting to feel like the masterstroke of his campaign is that he has become a canvas for the projection of everything positive that Americans want to believe in. That's why I love this site, I think they nail it.
The idea of Obama is pretty compelling, and given the distribution tools of social media and video, it's almost like he has been an open-sourced candidate. He can mean a lot of things to a lot of different people, his message (brand?) is being continually remixed and energized in a way that few brands ever achieve. Obama is as good of a brand molecule as we've ever seen a politician be.
Pretty impressive. And he even paid my speeding ticket!
