The organizers of this year's Account Planning Conference sent a note earlier today, they're looking for breakout session/workshop type ideas.
we are extending an invitation to the planning community to submit proposals for breakout sessions.
This year's conference will focus on exploring the role that planners play in crafting concept to content and back again. "Concept" encompasses all of the ideas that we as planners help create, nurture, and evaluate. "Content" includes all of the stuff that planners help create (e.g., strategy, intelligence, cultural currency, conversations we inspire, and, of course, our creative product). "Back again" refers to the cyclical nature of concept and content (i.e., how concepts can drive content, and conversely, how content can shape concepts).
The breakout sessions will center on sharpening the crafts we use across the entire planning process (i.e., from concept to content). Regardless of where we lie on the planning experience spectrum, we should always be cultivating the range of crafts (from qualitative to quantitative, from fundamental crafts to "softer" ones) that we use on a daily basis. Examples of these breakout topics include the craft of storytelling, the craft of debate, the craft of developing a connection plan, the craft of presenting, the craft of briefing, the craft of evaluation, the craft of asking questions, etc.
I don't know if any of you plannersphere types are heading to the conference this year, but if you are, maybe we can get together and work out some ideas to have a little collaborative breakout session. In the spirit of sharing and the open exchange of ideas that we celebrate across our collective blogs. Any interest? I think it could be really good to give it a shot.
Let me know!
The deadline for submissions is April 11.
