Finally there is a Facebook application that is actually good.
Whopper Sacrifice asks you to pick 10 friends to defriend and in exchange you get a free whopper. Yes, a free whopper for ten former friends.
For the first time (I think) someone has bothered to take the time to think about what Facebook users actually do (not much it appears, other than making friends and then periodically reviewing the list to see who you can scratch off) and made a fun sport of it.

Ha - my blog post on this ended with the exact same word and sentiment ("seriously!")
A few of the initial reviews of the app dismissed it as a viral gimmick, but I'm with you. It's a fun little utility that doubles as a nice marketing tactic. It's great.

Even if this is considered just a gimmick you still need to have an idea for it to be a gimmick. Not just a contest, lame micro game or fan page. A real idea with a bit of thought behind it. Props to CPG and BK for a nice idea and as always knowing how to fuel a PR blitz.
